Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the Cancer Unit at Medanta Hospital, Lucknow, emphasizing that the hospital attracts patients not only from Uttar Pradesh but also from neighboring countries and other states. He praised the hospital for maintaining high standards under the guidance of Dr. Naresh Trehan and the leadership of Dr. Rakesh Kapoor.

The new Cancer Unit at Medanta Hospital is a significant effort to ensure quality cancer treatment in the state capital. The installation of a Varian Edge radiotherapy machine and the opening of a new chemotherapy unit and virtual ICU by the Medanta Group were welcomed by the Chief Minister. He stated that this state-of-the-art radiotherapy machine was the first of its kind in North India, contributing to a new revolution in cancer treatment.

CM Yogi expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister for establishing a unit of Tata Institute in Kashi, which has benefited over 21,000 patients in the last three years. He highlighted the state government's efforts to provide healthcare through schemes like the Prime Minister's Ayushman Bharat and the Chief Minister's Relief Fund. Additionally, the Mukhyamantri Jan Arogya Yojana offers health insurance cover of Rs 5 lakh annually.

To address the shortage of specialist doctors in remote areas, CM Yogi stressed the importance of telemedicine. By providing training to doctors and technicians, telemedicine can offer better health facilities to patients in rural and remote regions. In this regard, Medanta has initiated teleconsultation and virtual ICU facilities in three districts—Prayagraj, Ayodhya, and Maharajganj—which will benefit a large number of patients and alleviate the burden on Lucknow's healthcare system.

In conclusion, the Chief Minister praised Medanta Hospital for its continuous progress and contributions to enhancing healthcare services in Lucknow. The newly inaugurated Cancer Unit and advanced medical technologies are set to provide vital support to cancer patients in the state capital and nearby districts.
