Furthermore, plans are underway to construct Ganga-pandals and convention halls within the fair area. These structures, fashioned from German hangars, will have a capacity exceeding 10,000 individuals each. A separate budget allocation is earmarked for this initiative. Moreover, to enhance safety and crowd management, barricading and netting will be installed along bathing ghats and major thoroughfares, supported by a government allocation of Rs 7 crore facilitated by the fair authority.
In addition to these developments, a paying guest scheme will be initiated in urban areas to cater to the lodging needs of common pilgrims and tourists. Regional Tourism Officer, Aparajita Singh, elaborated that this scheme aims to increase accommodation facilities in identified areas while encouraging building owners with available rooms to participate. This initiative not only addresses the accommodation requirements but also fosters self-employment opportunities. Guidelines have been drafted to streamline the implementation of this scheme.
Overall, the concerted efforts of the Yogi government reflect its commitment to ensuring a seamless and grand experience for all participants of the Maha Kumbh. By prioritizing accommodation infrastructure and implementing innovative schemes, Uttar Pradesh aims to elevate the spiritual and cultural significance of this revered event.
