Zero Carbon Emission EV Plus: Yogi Govt's Drive For Green Transport Transformation In Ayodhya Unfolds
Ramotsav 2024

The Yogi Adityanath-led government in Uttar Pradesh is spearheading a transformative initiative to introduce zero-carbon emission electric vehicle (EV) transport in Ayodhya. A comprehensive action plan, aligned with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's vision, is being implemented by the Ayodhya Development Authority (ADA) to facilitate this green transport shift.

In the inaugural phase, Ayodhya has seen the introduction of 15 EV Plus four-wheeler e-vehicles, each accommodating four passengers. The emphasis has been placed on adopting Tata Tigor EV cars, aligning with the 'Make in India' initiative. A Chinese-manufactured e-cart service, operational since the Deepotsav program last year, further contributes to eco-friendly transportation. This e-cart, with a seating capacity for six passengers, serves the elderly devotees in their pilgrimage to Hanumangarhi and the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple complex.

On Tuesday, Ayodhya witnessed the commencement of e-vehicle transport services connecting Lucknow and Ayodhya, operated by ADA in collaboration with private partners. Looking ahead, the plan involves expanding the fleet with 200 e-vehicles and prioritizing zero-carbon emission transportation, especially considering the upcoming Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple Pran-Pratishtha program.

Passion International Private Limited is playing a pivotal role by providing the cab service named 'My EV Plus' under the EV transportation process, in partnership with ADA. Starting January 6, this service will cater to pilgrims arriving at Ayodhya airport and will be accessible throughout Ayodhya via WhatsApp. The service will soon be integrated into an app developed by ADA, available on the Google Android Store.

Prashant Garg, the director of the company, highlighted that the 'My EV Plus' service focuses on offering a seamless and secure journey experience through Google Location and Google Maps access. Currently, users can access the service via WhatsApp by contacting the number 9799499299. For the Lucknow-Ayodhya route, passengers will be charged Rs. 3000 for a one-way journey. Within Ayodhya, the fare structure is set at Rs. 250 for a 0 to 10 km journey, Rs. 399 for 0 to 15 km, Rs. 499 for 0 to 20 km, Rs. 799 for 20 to 30 km, and Rs. 999 for 30 to 40 km. This initiative not only enhances the transportation infrastructure in Ayodhya but also aligns with broader environmental sustainability goals.
